The "Tarp FAILURE" was caused because the Chicago Cubs want to avoid paying higher healthcare costs i.e. "dodge the shaft?" "Everyone knows that getting O-care is like getting into an over-loaded elivator shaft and should be avoided". It is as if the long-suffering fans of the Chicago Cubs have not suffered enough heartache during these last 106 years, the "Cubbie" fans are now seeing their beloved "Cubbie" games cut short because of Obamacare. Nefarious, Draconian and onerous provisions of the (Un)Affordable (Unhealthy)Care (All Just an) Act were among the reasons the tarp crew for the notoriously losing baseball team failed miserably and pretty hilariously to spread the tarp to cover the baseball diamond inside Wrigley Field on the night of August 19, 2014, during a sudden thunderstorm, as reported the Chicago Sun-Times. Because of the rainstorm, the umpiring crew "called" the game in the fifth inning with the Cubs leading 2-0 over the San Francisco Giants. Then the tarp FAIL resulted in a very unusual ruling by Major League Baseball officials to uphold a protest by the San Francisco Giants, who were the TWO RUNS DOWN Cubs’ opponent that fateful night the San Francisco Giants LUCKED OUT. Thus became what is known as the first successful protest by a Major League baseball team since 1986. The tarp FAIL resulted partly because the Cubs grounds crew is short-staffed for 2014. The short-staffing situation has in turn been caused by the decision by Cubs management to "hold" the seasonal workers who maintain the field working fewer than 130 hours each month to "dodge the shaft" explained carefully above. He or she who works over 130 hours each month is defined as a full-time employee under the 2010 (Un)Affordable (Unhealthy)Care (All Just an) Act and is thus eligible for certain benefits management does NOT pay for those UNDER 130 hours. Consequently, the grounds crew was “undermanned.” Some anonymous, unidentified "officials with other Major League teams" criticized the Cubbie's management decision calling it “Cheap,” one "blabbed to" the Second City newspaper. “Embarrassing,” ventured another, “and they got caught.” Spokesman for the Chicago Cubs, Julian Green, stated that the staffing decisions as “organizational changes” of management. “Every organization, whether it’s baseball or corporate, is always continuing to evaluate inefficiencies, and obviously that translates to ours,” said Julian Green when intervied by the Chicago Sun-Times. “However, our efforts to manage costs had nothing to do with the episode on Tuesday night,” he stated. Grounds crew workers refused to speak to local media, dutifully observing the "unstated silence pledge" as they all "had the fear" for losing their 130-hour-per-month jobs. When the protested game restarted at 4:05 p.m. on Thursday, the hard-luck Cubbies managed to hold out and "keep the faith" for a 2-1 victory. The lovable losers then lost Thursday’s regularly scheduled game with the Some City Giants by a score of 5-3. For the 2014 season, the Chicago Cubs (Cubbies) have "re-gained" their customary position in last place in the National League Central Division. The Chicago Cubs hard ball Major League team has a record of 56-72 and is 15.5 games out of first place as of August 20, 2014 but still can be champs if they win all their games this year for SURE! As Brother Dave Gardner once opined,"Ain't THAT WEIRD! Dear Hearts!" But then "NEWSOBS" blog might remark,"Obamacare has "queered" Americans -- AGAIN." Far better to "bite the bullet" like WIDGETA and save the jobs! BTW WIDGETA has sufficient "job turnover amongst its "parts" to hire new people SOMEWHERE in the organization. Of course, the "trick" is for the CEO and his 203 assistant-managers to distribute the workload equally. Obamacare "masterminds" will find some "untoward satisfaction" in that "kabash" perhaps rating over 9900 "GFYs". Is Van Hoosthem Jones involved. Only Beelzebub knows for sure! And he is silent.
